A residence permit is a document that allows a foreign national to legally reside in another country for a specified period of time (temporary residence permit) or permanently (permanent residence permit). In Latvia, a residence permit may be requested on various grounds and is required if a foreign national plans to stay in Latvia for more than 90 days within a 180-day period.
